London film school

I am looking to go to the London international film school, what are peoples opinions of this school?

VERY expensive.

Tell me about it, roughly about ?24,000 for two years, how the hell are you suppose to pay for it.
Though it's suppose to be quite goo, oh well
I thought it may be wiser to go down a film school route to get into the industry, but I now think not!!!
The saying though that you can't get a job without expereince and you can't get expereince without a job is very true.

Can't win either way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, film school is expencive...if you want to learn to make film there are cheaper alternatives... www.raindance.co.uk - they do short courses, days and weekends. www.livingspirit.com - the people who made 'white angel' and 'urban ghost story', they do a two day course.
These are a cheaper alternative @ a hundred quid or so a course. Have a look around, I learnt how to use a super 16 camera @ www.vivid.org.uk . If you want some sort of experience you can do a few of these courses then put the money you have towards something more worth while like a film.

I worked for graduates of the London International in my formative years. It was awful.

They were more worried about shooting on 35mm and spending half a fucking day to set up a two second shot, then wondered why people, who were not getting paid or fed, left the set in droves after 18 hours.

My love of film will only take me so far, even I couldn't tolerate such nonsense from so called qualified professionals.

I'm sure they're not all bad, but it is a case of the school exploiting rich kids and their parents.

seriously i know a lot of people who have worked on NFTS stuff who are very talented but have known no-one from NFTS who has been very talented bar a couple. i think from what i know NFTS suffers from too many people wanting to direct hence why they get there crew externally

Internatianl Arts and film or something based up in yorkshire, apparently though ?10'000 will get you a guaranteed placement in the industry but again it is as a wanky person who runs around soho as a wanky producer

I highly recommend the workshop approach for learning. Can still be pricey, but it's great for an attitude adjustment of what you thought you knew.

being a 'graduate' of the course myself back in 1995.
